Stefanie Ridley, a certified teacher, is passionate about history education. Born and raised in South Carolina, she possesses a BA in Elementary Education from Charleston Southern University, and a M. Ed. from Southern Wesleyan University. She was the lead fourth grade social studies teacher at Spearman Elementary School in Piedmont, SC from 2006-2014. During that time, she was a participant in the Teaching American History Grant, which provided several professional opportunities, one of which was to visit various historical places around the country. She was a 2013 Glider Lehrman Institute National History Teacher of the Year Nominee. She is a member of the South Carolina Council for the Social Studies, and has been a presenter at their annual conference in recent years. Stefanie founded Making History in hopes of encouraging young people to not only become life-long learners of history, but to leave a legacy of their own someday.
Testimonials
"Stefanie is one of the most creative, energetic, and compassionate teachers with which I had a chance to work alongside. She was able to make history come alive for the students. We were team teachers and all of our students looked forward to the time they could go to her class to relive history."

"Mrs. Ridley was always excited when it came to Colonial Day and Pioneer Day. The Field Trips that she planned and came up with helped us to understand. It was also fun because you got to experience what it was like in that point in time. You get to dress up, eat their snacks, and play the games that the kids played back then."
